It can also be used for global or selective recording of the perineum (R or L). The semi-circular "interrupted" electrodes, when the probe is placed in the classic position towards the posterior perineum, avoid anterior nociceptive stimulation (bladder, bladder neck, uterine neck), particularly in cases of proven prolapse.
